[Barney wasn't shown between June and November due to my family commitments]
Barney got his first points towards his championship title at the Erskine park shows 1st and 2nd November 08. He's now halfway to his title despite very limited showing due to my other commitments.
ABOUT BARNEY
Barney is a bit of a change for me as I've only ever had Boxers! I chose the Border Terrier breed for it's fun personality, good temperament and body style that is suited to agility. So far he has exceeded my expectations. I'm very grateful to his breeder, Gaela, for letting him join our family.
Barney has started his show career with a bang! In the future Barney will also compete in agility trials. We may also try our hand at Earthdog trials.
Gaela tells me his pedigree name is inspired by a race horse 'Purple Patch'. According to Wikipedia: "The term purple patch is also used in a more general, and more unequivocally positive, sense to refer to a period of outstanding achievement. This usage is particularly common in sporting contexts: for example, a footballer who had scored in six successive games might be said to be 'enjoying a purple patch'". We have high hopes for him living up to his name :-)
